American singer Luther Vandross said it best when he sung ‘The Best Things in Life Are Free’. Each week the 2020tel team will be searching & testing some of the latest Android Apps on the market and presenting You with the best. Check out our round up of the Top 5 this Week!
This application is extremely simple and easy to use, as the app name suggests it’s a barcode scanner which allows you to quickly search for better deals online.
Load it up and you are presented with a view from your phone’s camera with a line going through it. To use, you place the barcode on that line and wait for the app to work its magic.
BBC News
BBC News official Android App allows you to check out what happening back in the UK at a glance or news all over the world.
The slick interface makes quickly viewing the top news stories a breeze but also allows you to search news relevant to a category choice. Want to find out last night’s Football scores – selecting the Sport > Football category allows this.
The nice thing about this App is it allows you watch real time news stories straight from the app without having to be redirected to another website and clicking some more.
Shazam
The App not only allows you to record a Tune from the Radio or even a packed night club (tried and tested!) with very good accuracy but also allows you to find music, listen to that music be being redirected to Youtube or actually buy the track straight from the App.
Once you buy the song you can store it to listen to later.
An essential App for all the music heads who just need to have the latest Tunes in their Life!
Easy to use interface, which should be familiar to people who already use it on their computers. Here you can tweet, retweet, look at lists, your profile and what messages and mentions you have.
Load this app up on your phone and it integrates itself into the handset. Essentially this means you can flick through your contacts and see who has updated their Twitter accounts – a nice touch.
The powerful and rather popular image-editing programme can seriously perk up even the worst photos, giving oomph to the most lacklustre of images.
Adobe Photoshop Express for Android is a free app that can mask the inadequacies of a phone’s camera in an, er, flash. It’s a barebones version of Photoshop but that’s not a bad thing. There’s a whole host of tools available within the app. Those included are the most essential for image saving, like cropping and auto correcting, one-touch picture enhancing and the ability to add some pretty decent filters, like sepia and black and white.
Unlike the full-fat Photoshop – which throws up more complications than a night with Charlie Sheen – Adobe really has made this app as simple as possible, which means it is essential and fool proof. (T3.com)
